ACARS Data

ACARS stands for the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System. These data are routed by several cooperating airlines to FSL.

For each observation:

¡P     latitude and longitude (degrees)

¡P     pressure altitude (meters MSL)

¡P     time of observation

¡P     temperature (Kelvin)

¡P     wind direction (degrees)

¡P     wind speed (meter/sec)

¡P     heading (degrees)

¡P     mach number

¡P     water vapor mixing ratio

¡P     relative humidity

¡P     dew point (Kelvin)

¡P     eddy dissipation rate (m^(2/3) s^-1)

¡P     peak vertical acceleration (meters/sec/sec)

¡P     peak vertical gust (meters/sec)

¡P     quality control and error indicators
